In 1982, CBS announced to millions of Americans, the truth about the Nazis still living among them

Indeed, a television report in the series 60 Minutes, on CBS, seemed to have offered irrefutable evidence that the CIA and other U.S. government institutions-including the Army, State Department, and FBI-had hired Nazi war criminals after the war and brought them to the United States. Those same agencies--told by the CBS episode's witness, John Loftus--during the General Accounting Office investigations that took place between 1977 and 1978 had also covered up their own collaboration and relationship with Nazi war criminals. This 60 Minutes video segment, titled "The Nazi Connection", aired on national TV on May 16, 1982, triggering a veritable storm in the American public.
But then...?
